Historical Vehicle

Vehicles that are at least 26 years old, owned solely as collector''s items, and are used only for events such as historical club activities, parades and car shows, are eligible for Historical Vehicle plates. The registration term has varied through the years: Before January 1, 1988, Historical Vehicle plates were issued with no expiration date. All such plates expired on April 15, 1993. From January 1, 1988 to December 31, 1996, Historical Vehicle plates expired on April 15 of the fifth year after issuance or renewal. From 1997 onward, Historical Vehicle plates expire on April 15 of the tenth year after issuance or renewal.
